Sources from Hyderabad have stated that contrary to earlier indications, chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has deferred his plans of going for a cabinet reshuffle in October and it is now likely to happen only after municipal elections are held across the state by the end of the year.

It was stated that the much hyped cabinet reshuffle that was expected to happen in October was slated to induct Nara Lokesh, son of the Andhra Pradesh chief minister, apart from inducting few YSRCP MLAs who has recently crossed over to the TDP.

Meanwhile the change in the mind of the CM has happened as he felt that due to the sudden proposal to hold municipal elections by the end of this year, it would be pointless to disturb his council of ministers before that as it could affect the winning chances of the ruling party.

Sources have said that YSRCP president YS Jaganmohan Reddy is personally monitoring the party activities in the urban bodies and has also scheduled a series of interactive meetings with the people in those poll-bound municipal bodies, where the party leadership has met to chalk out a strategy for the elections to the municipal corporations and has appointed senior leaders as in charges for the various civic polls.
