Currently Multiplex culture is ever increasing in India and the multiplex bandwagon has gone beyond the metros to redefine entertainment in B and C class towns. While the first phase had seen emergence of multiplexes in metros and now this growth is spreading to Rank 2 and 3 cities.



It is stated that SPI Cinemas originally named Sathyam Cinemas will be investing Rs 500 Cr to build 4 Imax theatres and 40 multiplex complexes in Vijayawada, Vizag, Guntur and Tirupathi cities in Andhra Pradesh.

Representatives of SPI Cinemas met Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu today and explained him the progress of project works. The CM asked them to complete the projects within the specified time.



Meanwhile briefing about SPI Cinemas, it is an Indian multiplex chain and film production company owned by the SPI Group, headquartered in Chennai. SPI Cinemas operates Sathyam, Escape and other large multiplex complexes in Chennai and other cities in South India. SPI is notable for being the first multiplex operator in India to equip its screens with the Dolby Atmos and Auro 11.1 sound systems.
