Ban-Ki-Moon As the situation between India and Pakistan getting tenser day by day and both sides possessing nuclear war heads ,there looms a large damage waiting to happen unless both sides try and de-escalate the growing tension.In this backdrop UN Secretary General Ban ki Moon has come out and offered to mediate between the two countries.
The surgical strikes in POK which killed 38 terrorists by India was the response of URI attack in which 17 Indian jawans were killed .This has brought the two countries to issue statements that they were ready for any eventuality.In this scenario Ban ki Moon has issued a statement saying that the rising tensions between the two countries should be reduced and for which he said his services as a mediator were always available if both the countries agreed to it.
UNMOGIP(UN Military Observer Group In India and Pakistan ) through which UN maintains and observes ceasefire violations across LOC has appraised the situation to UN Chief . As the deteriorating conditions between the two countries are a cause of worry to the world and UN being the forum representing of all countries in the world has decided to step in to play the role of a mediator with the acceptance of both countries.
The offer to mediate is a sign that the world recognizes that there is a growing conflict between the two countries and the best way to resolve this is by a dialogue between the two countries
