Yesteryear actress Jayaprada has finally chosen Congress as her destination, sources say. After being snubbed by SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav in Uttar Pradesh the actress reportedly decided to take a plunge into state politics after a gap of close to a decade. So far, she has been an MP in Uttar Pradesh.
There was intense speculation as to which party she would join with a precondition that she had set, of a Lok Sabha Ticket from her home town, Rajahmundry. TDP closed doors as Murali Mohan has already been declared the candidate while Jagan reportedly said that he would welcome her in the party minus her precondition.
Looks like Chiranjeevi’s lobbying worked as Jayaprada met Sonia Gandhi at her residence in New Delhi recently! It has to be seen what alternative will be suggested to sitting MP Vundavalli. There is news that Vundavalli is not very keen to contest in this election due to various other reasons. But it is always better to check.
