Last week was a witness to two important political events in AP. One was the Mahanadu programme ogranised by TDP which is held once in two years to mark the party’s birth anniversary. At the same time this event coincided with Jagan Mohan Reddy’s one year imprisonment in Jail.
Both TDP and YSRCP are at crossroads today. While TDP on one hand is facing desertions, the party Chief Naidu hopes to induct youngsters and publicize more about the feel good factor and the anti-corruption image of the party. At the same time though there are steady stream of leaders knocking the doors of Chanchalguda jail to Jagan’s party, the party fears internally that in the absence of Jagan and strong cadre, it may not fare well during next elections.
In comparison, TDP’s Mahanadu went beyond expectations while rallies and dharnas in favor of Jagan were covered by Jagan media extensively but the rest of the media covered it poorly saying there was no response at all for rallies for Jagan!
