If anyone in Congress had a slight hope of realizing the dream of Telangana, then home minister Shinde’s comments have put to rest all such expectations. Speaking to media yesterday, Home minister Shinde categorically stated that there is no consensus on Telangana and unless there is a consensus, there cannot be formation of the separate state.

Sources say that though even after such a statement there may be some slight positive feelers on Telangana by few Congress leaders in Delhi, it will only be an eye wash. The Congress has more or less made up its mind not to give Telangana and sources say that with YSRCP leader Jagan seeing a downfall in Andhra, Congress is not fearing the worse now and has given some fresh oxygen to the party.


 

They are positive that it can atleast earn 50-70 seats in total and emerge as one of the king makers after 2014 polls. But this has pushed Telangana MLA’s and ministers into a tight corner and they are unable to say anything about it, except repeating that they have faith in Congress leadership regarding Telangana.
