1.Hyderabad man tries to film woman taking bath.Osmania University (OU) police arrested a 23-year-old man for allegedly videographing a woman while she was taking bath.The suspect S. Venkatesh, kept his mobile phone hidden inside his neighbour’s washroom. However, the woman saw the phone and alerted her family, police said.  
2.Telangana BJP to oppose KCR's plans to reserve 12 per cent quota for Muslims.After months-long soft-peddling on the TRS government in the state, the Telangana BJP has finally decided to strongly oppose Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s plans to reserve 12 per cent quota for Muslims in education and jobs.
3.Vizag techie stabbed in brawl over missing wallet at Hyderabad bar.A Vizag-based techie who came to Hyderabad to meet his brothers was stabbed by two youths during a brawl over a missing wallet at a bar in Kukatpally on Thursday night. Raviteja who suffered serious injuries was hospitalised. The police booked an attempt to murder case against the youths.
4.Hyderabad: Parents take the rap for minor drivers.Some 300 underage two-wheeler riders, who were caught for either not having a beginner’s licence or a number plate on the vehicle, were counselled at the Traffic Training Institute Begumpet and Goshamahal, on Friday.
5.Telangana: ‘Easy’ reviews of IAS, IPS officers to stop.Most IAS officers in Telangana state are simply just “outstanding”, according to the Annual Performance Reports of IAS officers filed by the state government with the Centre every year.The Telangana state government has now decided to follow in the Centre’s footsteps and initiate action against non-performing officers.
6.Telangana: Power cost set to go up. Telangana Power Distribution Companies (TSSPDCL and TSNPDCL) are planning to recover their revenue losses by increasing power tariff slabs, which will automatically hike power cost for heavy users.According to official sources, the distribution companies, which are also called discoms, could bring down the annual slab limit from existing 900 units to 600 units.
7.Telangana’s film awards on Dasara festival. The Telangana state government will give away its first film awards since the formation of the state during the Dasara festival and has begun a search for the new name for the award.
8.Hyderabad: No AC buses in Old City, people suspect foul play.: Despite the old city being a major contributor to the revenue of TSRTC, it is deprived of the comfort of air-conditioned (AC) buses. A total of 3,300 buses are running in the city as per an RTI report, but unfortunately no single AC bus runs in old city.
9.Telangana firm on common PG entrance test.The Telangana State Council for Higher Education (TSCHE) is firm on conducting common entrance test for admission to PG courses in different universities in the state.
10.Telangana: Contract staff in colleges get salary hike.After increasing the salaries of contract lecturers working in government junior colleges, Deputy Chief Minister and education minister Kadiyam Srihari has decided to extend the same benefit to the contract staff working in degree and polytechnic colleges.
11.CCTV cameras at Adilabad railway stations to ensure strict vigil.The Railway Department is attempting to make railway stations safe for women by installing CCTV cameras under the Nirbhaya Fund allocated by the Ministry of Railways. CCTV cameras are being set up at 78 major railway stations across six divisions, including Nanded of Maharashtra, and Secunderabad and Hyderabad in the South Central Railways zone.

1.Chandrababu Naidu was not invited to WEF, but a paid delegate: Opposition.Unlike his previous trips to Davos, Switzerland, for the World Economic Forum (WEF), Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s latest visit has come under attack from the opposition parties, dubbing it as a "publicity stunt" and alleging he was not an invitee to the event but a paid delegate.
2.Kurnool: Solar park oustees demand relief.: Land acquisition for the world's largest solar power project with a 1,000 MW capacity has run into rough weather with the farmers who lost their land demanding higher compensation or permission to return to their land.Armed with AP High Court order which said maintain status quo for a period of six weeks, the execution of project appears to be hitting a road block. The role of the district collector who has been acting as an agent of multinational companies has come in for a sharp criticism at a round table organised here on Friday by representatives of 12 political parties.
3.Visakha Utsav Facebook page, website turn ineffective.Questions surround the holding of the three-day Visakha Utsav-2017 that was scheduled to start on January 29 with the partnership summit hosted by the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) slated to open in Vizag city on January 28 as well as the fact that festival website has not been accessible due to technical glitches.
4.AP staff attendance very poor.The biometrics attendance system introduced by the state government seems to be not giving any intended results. The data from Chief Minister’s dashboard shows that overall attendance of the employees across all districts and those still working at Hyderabad was only 38.79 per cent in the last 30 days.
5.Nellore: Kidney patients are in dire need of help. Lashing out at Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for his “sheer negligence” of  the massive kidney disease numbers in several villages in Prakasam district, YSR Congress chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday demanded Rs 10 lakh ex gratia to the families of those died of the disease.
6.West Godavari: Novel initiative for fund transfers. As the Centre promotes cashless transactions in the aftermath of demonetisation as a move to tackle black money, graft and terrorism, the West Godavari administration has come up with a novel initiative.Cards will be issued to the general public in order to be able to carry out cashless transactions; and these cards will be secured using an Aadhar-based QR code and a PIN to avoid misuse.
7.Centre ready to set up SME Park in AP: Kalraj Mishra.Union minister for MSMEs Kalraj Mishra said his ministry was ready to set up an SME Park in Andhra Pradesh and add-ed, “If necessary, it can be developed in PPP mode.”
8.YSRC chief Jagan Mohan Reddy promises to return excess lands. YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy announced about returning the excess lands to the farmers immediately after coming to power after elections.He came to Lingayapalem in Amaravati capital region on Thursday to interact with the assigned and island farmers. Responding to the woes of the farmers, he announced that after assuming power, he will return all excess lands which were collected by the present Telugu Desam government.
9.Rare earth elements found along Andhra Pradesh coast.Marine areas off the coast of Andhra Pradesh have a treasure of rare earth elements. This fact came to light as a result of a survey done by the Geological Survey of India (GSI) for mapping and mineral resource evaluation along India’s coast.
Heavy mineral resources up to 1-1.5m thick are available on the sea floor in the middle shelf over an area of 764 sq km with a proven reserve of 108 million tonnes. The survey established that one fourth of the reserves are off Andhra coast.
10.Andhra Pradesh bureaucrats lobby for plum posts.While the Chief Minister left for Davos to attend the investors meet, the bureaucrats have also boarded the aircraft for Hyderabad and New Delhi to get their pending works cleared.

12. Raghuveera accuses Modi of destroying the nation.: APCC president N. Raghuveera Reddy accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the man who is destroying India. He, along with K.V.P. Ramachandra Rao, C. Ramachandraiah, K. Bapiraju and other leaders gheraoed the SBI zonal office on Wednesday in protest against the ill-effects of demonetisation.
13.Banana board in Andhra Pradesh stressed.The food-processing industry has been urging the government to set up a banana development board in Andhra Pradesh, stating that it is necessary for promoting the latest farming techniques, ensuring post-harvesting facilities, development of processable varieties with high yields, and storage and marketing facilities.
