People of Tamil Nadu protested angrily against the Supreme Court ban on Jallikattu, popular bull taming sport in the region. Following intense protests, Government of India was forced to act. 
Tamil Nadu Governor formulated an ordinance allowing Jalli Kattu while Union Government sought one week time to reply in Supreme Court before it delivered the final judgement. Tamil Nadu government decided to celebrate Jallikattu in a grand manner across the state. 
However the hastily organised Jallikattu event in Pudukottai resulted in the death of 2 persons. The event left 83 injured.The news emerged even as Tamil Nadu CM Pannerselvam left Madurai without inaugurating the Alanganallur Jallikattu as protestors demanded lasting solution to the problem. 
Pannerselvam said "State's Jallikattu ordinance route is permanent, robust and sustainable, will be made into a law in the coming Assembly session."
