Hardly 9 months to go for 2014 general elections in the state. Congress high command is seriously keen on retention the power in the state. The main hurdle for the party is Telangana issue. Pending this issue for long time without clearing is causing burden for the party to move further for the elections. Congress high Command shrewdly sends the feelers to the people on Gorkhaland type package to the Telangana.
As per the reports based on Governor and Chief Minister, Congress High Command is ready to announce “T” package instead of giving separate status to Telangana. Before doing that exercise Congress party has given importance to change it’s party affairs. D. Srinivasa Rao is likely to be assigned the charge of state party affairs as PCC President. Reportedly, Congress party played strategic move by announcing DS as PCC President. If DS became PCC Chief Congress party would have chance to go for alliance with TRS. Congress party plans to go for alliance with TRS without giving Telanagana.
On other hand TRS also in confused state. Till now the party didn’t fight alone in two general elections. Party doesn’t have enough strength to fight in south Telangana. TRS party contesting in elections independently this will give chance to TDP to increase the strength. String of corruption allegations on KCR family and sudden increase of BJP in the Telangana region would have causing trouble to split of Telangana Votes. As per political analysts, if any vote split between Two Telangana Parties TDP would get ultimate gain. Keeping these, entire Congress party highlighted DS name to struck alliance with TRS.
