Sources have stated that a revenue inspector of Karnataka has committed suicide last evening, at his home in Srinagar area of South Bengaluru. The family of H C Srinivas, 40, a revenue officer of Bengaluru civic body BBMP, has alleged that that frequent transfer and harassment by a corporator had pushed him to take the extreme step. In a span of one month he has been transferred twice against the established norms, the family has said.
Meanwhile on November 14, Mr. Srinivas was transferred to KG Nagar despite not finishing three years in the posting. Exactly a month later, he was transferred back to RR Nagar and last Wednesday, he was upset that he is being transferred so many times from one place to another. He was talking about registering a complaint saying he was being harassed and he was very upset and he didn't not even go to work. And yesterday night he has ended his life', said family member Krishna Murthy.

Padmavathi has said the civic body will inquire into the issue. "We will
get the documents and examine and take a report about the transfers that have
happened”.
It was stated that several government officers have committed suicide of late, alleging they were being harassed and in October, an inspector, Raghavendra, was found dead in his office at a police station in Kolar. In July, a senior police officer, Mangaluru Deputy Superintendent of Police MK Ganapathy, committed suicide at a lodge in Kodagu. Before killing himself, he had spoken to a local television channel, alleging that senior officers and politicians had been harassing him.
