As the Supreme court dismissed a plea on seeking postponement of the budget session, Congress disagreed with the Supreme Court verdict. Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit said, "I don't agree with Supreme court's decision as without any hint of doubt it is going to have a big impact on the elections.
Be it positive or negative." But, the centre lauded the apex court's decision and they took a hit against Congress for politicizing the issue. Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi who is the Minister of State for Minority affairs said the budget is the constitutional responsibility of the Government and stopping that is definitely wrong.
He further said, "In India, the elections keep happening the entire year at some place or the other. Budget is not stated specific, but for the entire nation. Congress arguments for delaying budget lacks facts and logic." The Union Budget will be announced on February 1st and it has been decided by the Government.
