1.Online fraud: Hyderabad cyber cell warned job hunters not to contact HR wings.Online job scammers are ahead of the police and are neutralising the cops’ awareness drive on job frauds.In a series of online job frauds reported in the city in the last seven months, criminals cheated candidates by making them agree to the clause, ‘Do not try to communicate with the HR department of the firm as it is a backdoor entry’.
2.Hyderabad police pulls MIM ‘Dangal’ posters down.The police has pulled down posters featuring MIM president Asaduddin Owaisi, striking a ‘Dangal’ pose. The posters showed Mr Owaisi in the place of film star Aamir Khan, and featured BJP president Amit Shah, UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi and former UP CM Mayawati.
3.Telangana government prunes Padma award nominees list to 25.: The Telangana state government has recommended 25 names for Padma awards this year.It pruned the list by more than half after only one of the recommended 56 names received the award last year. The list includes singers Goreti Venkanna, Andesri and others for Padma Shri.The government has also recommended Olympic badminton silver medallist P.V. Sindhu for Padma Bhushan. Interestingly, the AP government also recommended Sindhu.The other names that figure in the list include Dr Chennameneni Hanumantha Rao (economist and writer and member of National Advisory Council (2004-2008) and Prof Shiv K. Kumar (poet and novelist) for Padma Vibhushan.
4.Report on Rohith Vemula's death tabled in Parliament, is now public.The HRD ministry on Monday made it clear that the Justice (retd.) A K Roopanwal Commission report on the death of Rohith Vemula at Hyderabad Central University has been tabled in both Houses of Parliament and hence it is a public document that can be accessed through RTI.
5.Telangana farm forecast goes awry.Farmers who cultivated cotton against official advice have done very well while farmers who cultivated red gram and were supported by the state government have seen falling prices with a glut in the market.
6.Hyderabad: Pipe work hits traffic at Safilguda.The busy Safilguda mini tank bund crossroads faced a gridlock on Monday as a major part of the main road near the NTR statue was blocked to complete repair the road after laying a pipeline. The pipeline was laid as part of the World Bank-aided project to improve the water supply in Malkajgiri.
7.Minorities panel office in Hyderabad suddenly shifted.The office of the Minorities Commission for TS and AP was suddenly shifted from Raj Bhavan Road to a two-bedroom quarter in Shantinagar here at midnight, leading to panel chairman Abid Rasool Khan asking the Chief Ministers to order an inquiry.
8.After grand show, GHMC stops initiatives to prevent urinating in open.The GHMC mobile courts that were reactivated after 15 years and the enforcement of Public Defacement Act lasted to prevent urinating in the open, dumping of garbage and advertisements lasted only a few days. The initiatives did not last long enough to make an impact.
Andhra Pradesh
1.Vijayawada: Polavaram dumping yard works to begin on January 29.Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has reviewed the Polavaram dumping yard works.As part of virtual inspection of Polavaram project on Monday, the CM spoke to the West Godavari district collector over Polavaram dumping yard. The officials and representatives of construction companies informed the CM that they couldn't complete cent percent works during Sankranthi, as workers were not available.
2.It’s hands tied, AP government fails to act on illegal buildings.Not in a position to take action against buildings constructed violating the norms, the state government once again extended the time for processing the applications received under Building Penalisation scheme for another three months. Though it was announced earlier that the deadline for processing the applications was December 31, 2016 it has now been extended till March 31, 2017.
3.Housing scheme back on track as Chandrababu Naidu step in.The state government has identified the lacunae in taking forward the urban housing scheme.The top bosses of the department of housing have noticed that former Secretary (Housing) Luv Agarwal and his team of officers alleged disinclination towards operating the scheme in EPC mode leading to delaying of the process for a long time. After completion of 2.5 years, the department is now getting ready to rectify the mistakes.
4.6,000 cops deployed for Kapu Satyagraha in East Godavari.There is heavy police deployment in East Godavari as Kapu Joint Action Committee (JAC) state convener Mudragada Padmanabham will take up padayatra nam-ed ‘Kapu Satyagraha Yatra’ from Ravulapalem in Konaseema area. The yatra commence from January 25 demanding for inclusion of Kapus in the reservation list.
5.Eturunagaram eco-tourism site hacked by ‘Pakistanis’.The website of the Eturnagaram forest department was found hacked on Monday.On opening the site, eturnagaramecotourism.com, an image of Pakistan flag with rangers can be seen and some music is also heard.On top of the page, the words ‘Hacked by Hax0rspy & E@gle !nvectus’ can be seen and under the image, "hello gahind, where is security? :D ! Are you hacked? yesh! u have been hacked :D!! every day someone gets hacked today it is your day impossible only means it has not been done. Every single domain which was hosted on server got hacked :" can be seen.
6.Chandrababu Naidu takes swipe at Pawan Kalyan. In an indirect jibe on Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday said those who do not have any experience even as sarpanch and are without any knowledge on governance were commenting in an irresponsible manner
7.Hirakhand Express mishap: Jagan Mohan Reddy urges Rs 20 lakh compensation. The way the trains are operated nowadays is worrisome as three major train mishaps occurred in the last three months in various parts of the country, said YSRC chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy here on Monday. He visited the Area Hospital in Parvatipuram, where dozens of injured persons in the Hirakhand Express mishap are undergoing treatment, and also the accident spot near Kuneru station.
8.Hirakhand Express accident: NIA, CID sleuths visit Koneru mishap spot.The National Investigation Agency  visited the Hirakhand Express mishap site here on Monday and quizzed railway engineers to explore all angles, including sabotage. The CID and a forensic team from Andhra Pradesh  have also started a probe
9.AP government worried about SCR stir in Visakhapatnam during CII meet. The state government is worried about youths gathering at RK Beach on January 26 for a silent protest on the Special Category Status for AP, with the support of Opposition parties like the YSR Congress and Jana Sena, in view of the CII Partnership Summit-2017 that is being held in Visakhapatnam on January 27 and 28.
