It is known that Pannerselvam who vacated his CM post silently without any complaints when Jayalalithaa came back from jail, however stunned all by raising rebellion against Jayalalithaa's close aide Sasikala when she planned to become CM.

Political analysts felt that Pannerselvam never in his life would have dared to raise his voice but he got the courage backed by the all powerful central government led by PM Modi who is against Sasikala at all cost.

Analysts say had Pannerselvam not revolted against Sasikala, the moment Supreme Court delivered its verdict convicting her in the disproportionate assets case and sentenced her to four year jail term, he would have become the CM again.
