Telangana
1.  TRS gained at the expense of Congress :  Thirty two months after the formation of Telangana State, AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh has regretted that his party committed a blunder by not taking the political mileage of creating the separate State.
2.  Niloufer deaths: no clarity yet :  The mystery of five maternal deaths in Niloufer Hospital remains unsolved two weeks after they happened, even as it shows signs of deepening.
3.  TJAC committed to questioning govt.’ :  Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) chairman Prof. M. Kodandaram said there must be someone who should question the anti-people policies of the government, and that exactly is what the body is doing right from the beginning.
4.  Government diluting SC/ST Sub Plan :  The TRS government is diluting the SC/ST Sub Plan Act on the pretext of renaming it, CPI (M) State secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram said coming down heavily on the TRS government.
5.  2BHK houses: it’s hunky dory only in KCR’s adopted village :  Conflicting developments now signify the prestigious 2BHK housing scheme of the Telangana government. Despite the marked reluctance on the part of contractors to bid for the 'unprofitable' works almost everywhere, the government has increased the quota of houses per Assembly constituency from 400 to 1,000. The only thing which seems to be clear is, the TRS government has plans to return to power in 2019 hinging on the success of the housing scheme for the poor.
6.  Telangana AAP flays note ban :  The Telangana Aap Aadmi Party (AAP) has demanded an inquiry by a sitting Supreme Court judge on the demonetisation move of the NDA government and also into the allegations of the corporate companies benefiting from it.
7.  A year after Awad Bafanna’s death, his brothers still sorting books :  It has been over a year since Khaled Bafanna and his brothers have been sorting out the huge collection of books at Haziq and Mohi Rare Book Suppliers.
8.   Maoist killed in ‘encounter’ : Tension gripped the interior tribal pockets in Charla mandal bordering Chhattisgarh following the death of a woman Maoist in an alleged exchange of fire between the police and Maoists close to the volatile Telangana-Chhattisgarh border in the restive Bijapur district of the neighbouring State on Sunday morning

9.  BJP yatra in coal belt from today :  The BJP Telangana State unit is planning to reorganize and strengthen the party in the Singareni Collieries coal belt region with its party Assembly floor leader G Kishan Reddy launching the “Boggu Bayila Paryatana” from February 20 to 23 in the newly-formed districts.
10.  NDPS Act invoked in car accident case :  The Banjara Hills police added provisions of Narcotic Drugs and Psycho Substances Act in the road accident that took place on February 18, wherein 20-year-old B. Satvik Reddy had rammed his Mercedes Benz C class car into a parked BMW car in front of the KBR Park’s gate number 2. The section was added as officials found five grams of ganja wrapped in a newspaper in the accused’s car.


Andhra Pradesh
1.  TDP nominee to file papers today :  Three Ministers — K. Atchannaidu, Ganta Srinivasa Rao, and Kamineni Srinivas — MPs, MLAs and TDP leaders will attend the nomination filing by TDP candidate for the Graduates constituency K.J. Reddy in Anantapur on Monday.
2.  Shivaji’s birth anniversary fete :  The BJYM on Sundaycelebrated the birth anniversary of the Hindu emperor ‘Chatrapati’ Shivaji at the Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh (RSS) office here. Caretaker of the RSS’s East Godavari district unit Raja Ramachandra recalled the wars waged against the Moghals by Shivaji, who declared his kingdom as ‘Hindu Raj’.
3.  As education hub, Vizag has a long way to go :  Since the run-up to the 2014 Assembly election, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has been projecting Visakhapatnam as the education hub of the State. Even local MLAs, MPs and Ministers have been singing the same tune. But on ground, the scenario is far away from it.
4.  Emergency heroes’ seek freedom fighter status :  Efforts should be made to get freedom fighter status to “emergency heroes,” who fought against the establishment in 1975, said several speakers who took part in the South Zone conference, jointly organised by Bharat Suraksha Samithi and Lokthantra Senani Sangh, here on Sunday. They bemoaned the plight of the “emergency heroes” and felt no recognition was accorded to them even after 42 years.

RINL pins hopes on demand in capital region :  A year after opening its Branch Sale Office at Vijayawada, Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, has exuded confidence that it will become a major beneficiary due to the booming housing activity in and around Amaravati.

6 .  Ashok, Haribabu launch Council poll campaign :  Union Civil Aviation Minister P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju and Visakhapatnam MP and State BJP president K. Haribabu formally launched the campaign for the TDP-BJP combine candidate for the legislative Council polls (Graduates’ Constituency) P.N.V. Madhav here on Sunday.
7.  Governor prays at Tiruchanur  :  Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan arrived here on a two-day pilgrimage to the temple city on Sunday. Accompanied by his wife Vimala Narasimhan and former Governor M.K. Narayanan, he offered prayers at Sri Padmavathi Ammavari temple, Tiruchanur. 
8.  Govt. should move fast on employees’ issues: Ashok :  P. Ashok Babu, the Chairman of Joint Action Committee of Employees, Teachers, Workers and Pensioners (JAC), said he would meet Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu soon seeking early solution to the issues raised by the employees and other constituents of the JAC.
9.  Hunger strike observed against cancellation of Telugu medium :  Protesting against the cancellation of Telugu medium in municipal schools in the State, MLCs, educationists, intellectuals, scholars, students and members of the civil society observed a hunger strike here on Sunday under the umbrella of ‘Mathru Basha Madyama Vedika’ and an organisation was formed to fight for the cause.
10.  Drought forcing farmers to sell cattle :  APCC president N. Raghuveera Reddy on Sunday said that farmers in the Anantapur district were selling away their milch and farm animals to slaughter houses in view of the collapsing rural economy and drought.
