2. Hyderabad: Migrant workers had come in January :   The six migrant workers who died in the fire in Attapur were temporary workers from Palamu district of Jharkhand. They came to Hyderabad in the first week of January to work in the cooler assembling unit. They were made to sleep inside a temporary shed which had no ventilation and had flammable material stocked inside.
3.  Death of 2 mothers at Hyderabad's hospital to be probed :  An internal committee has been formed by director of health and medical education Dr M. Ramani to investigate into the two maternal deaths at Gandhi Hospital.
4.  Delhi duo nabbed for cheating :  The CCS police arrested two Delhi natives for allegedly cheating a city youth after promising him a job with the ground handling section of Jet Airways at the Shamshabad airport.
5.  Panels on SC/ST Sub-Plan Act to meet next week :  The committees constituted to amend the SC/ST Sub-Plan Act, 2013 will have a final meeting next week to finalise its recommendations and send them to the Chief Minister for his approval.
6.  Notices to GHMC tax defaulters :  For those expecting penalty waivers related to property tax this year, there is some bad news. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is all set to crack the whip on the property tax defaulters and making it clear that there will be no penalty waivers.
7.  She Team arrest 60 for harassing women :  Sixty people, including 13 minor boys were arrested by She Team of the Rachakonda police. Officials booked 44 cases (32 petty cases and 12 FIRs) against eveteasers in the last month.
8.  Fulfil poll promise of job to youth, TDP told :  The YSR Congress has demanded that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu take immediate steps to fulfil his pre-election promise of providing job to every household and ensure that the unemployed youth are paid Rs. 2,000 as allowance as assured by the Telugu Desam Party in the run up to the previous elections.
9.  TSIIC board expanded :  The Board of Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) has been reconstituted with the inclusion of senior officials from various government departments.
10.  Not yet ready for Mahasivaratri :  The auspicious Mahasivaratri day witnesses huge crowds at this temple town. However, with the festival just three days away, the work that was taken up to meet the requirements of devotees is not yet complete.


Andhra Pradesh
1.  NAAC team visits GITAM :  The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC ) Peer Team comprising 10 expert members from various parts of the country had visited GITAM University campus at Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. 
2.  TD yet to fulfil promise to the unemployed :  YSR Congress president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, in an open letter to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, has said that the TDP government owes Rs. 66,000 to each unemployed youth in the State.
3.  In Thrissur, a jallikattu-type agitation in the offing :  In a development reminiscent of what had transpired at the end of the jallikattu agitation in Tamil Nadu, festival organising committees in a string of temples in Thrissur district have demanded the promulgation of an ordinance to bypass the curbs on fireworks display in connection with the pooram festivities.
4.  AU to hold EdCET on April 19 :  Andhra University will be conducting the State-wide Education Common Entrance Test (EdCET) for the academic year 2017 on April 19.
5.  Telangana Minister taken ill :  Telangana Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy on Wednesday took ill soon after returning to the guest house after the darshan of the Lord.
6.  Congress writes to CM on capital :  PCC chief N. Raghuveera Reddy on Wednesday wrote a letter to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to apprise him of the ‘irregularities and injustices’ occurring in the Amaravati Capital area.
7.  JNTUA V-C dies in road accident :  A pall of gloom descended on the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University in Anantapur (JNTUA) following the death of Vice-Chancellor Mohammed Moulana Mohiuddin Sarcar (M.M.M. Sarcar) in a car accident near Pamidi in the Anantapur district on Wednesday evening.
8.  VPT promises all help to high-level team from Nepal :  A high-level team from Nepal was promised by the Visakhapatnam Port Trust on Wednesday that steps will be taken up to provide full support to traders in the Himalayan country to use the local port for transhipment of various cargoes.
9.  Forest fire atop hillock near Madanapalle :  A major forest fire broke out at the tri-hill junction of Mallaiahkonda, Sadhu Konda and Inumu Konda in Tamballapalle constituency, 40 km from Madanpapalle, on Wednesday. The fire was brought under control by the evening. Officials of the forest and fire departments termed it a “general fire”.
10.  Protesting corporators detained :  Five corporators of the YSRC who spent a night in the VMC office as a protest against the Corporation were on Wednesday detained by the police.
11.   Amaravati   project to land with Singaporean firms :  : No company has filed tenders for Amaravati Development Partner (ADP) on Swiss Challenge mode, even as the deadline for its submission ended on Tuesday. The AP Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) had called international tenders on Swiss Challenge mode for the ADP selection.
