Shocking demise of former Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa left all in tears. Many suspected foul play as Jayalalithaa's health deteriorated suddenly after team of doctors certified that she would be discharged soon.
Suspicion increased when AIADMK party, TN Government and Apollo Hospital didnot come with timely health updates. Celebrities like Gautami wrote to PM Modi demanding enquiry while many approached High Court with PILs seeking directions for thorough investigation.
In the midst of all this Apollo Hospital which treated Jayalalithaa during her final days, provided information to Madras High Court. Apollo Hospital responding to a PIL filed by PA.Joseph filed counter affidavits before the first bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Huluvadi G Ramesh and Justice R Mahadevan.
Apollo stated that s per the Indian Medical Council (Professional conduct, Etiquette and Ethics) Regulations, 2002, medical practitioners cannot reveal details related to the patients’ health. Apollo said Jayalalithaa didnot give permission to release her snaps when she was treated in the hospital. It said medical treatment and bulletins happened according to Jayalalithaa's wishes.
