In normal terms statistics are always sacred and present accurate state of affairs. But they seem to have gone awry in case of Andhra pilgrims in Uttarkhand floods .
AP Government which kept saying till yesterday that only 2700 odd pilgrims had gone on Char dham yatra now says 2782 were still stranded in the calamity-struck Uttarakhand and 1,657 others had returned while another 829 pilgrims were reported safe .
About 1,549 pilgrims were provided with train and air tickets by Government while TDP claimed that it had rescued around 400 and sent home around 300 so far and another 200 by tomorrow .
While there is no clarity on number of persons rescued and sent to Delhi or AP, there is no clarity on missing persons and also the total dead which is put above 75 but hardly 14 bodies declared and eight sent to Hyd
