Many are wondering whether YSRCP's Jagan Mohan Reddy is losing the MLC battle even before it began. Already TDP won 6 MLC seats unanimously and the elections for rest of the three seats will be held on March 17. Counting will be held on March 20.

Former ministers Satrucharla Vijaya Rama Raju (Srikakulam), Chikkala Ramachandra Rao (East Godavari), sitting MLC Angara Ramamohan and Mantena Satyanarayana Raju (West Godavari), B Rajanarasimhulu alias Dorababu (Chittoor) and Deepak Reddy (Anantapuramu) won as MLCs unopposed as few independent candidates withdrew their papers in Srikakulam, West Godavari and Anantapuramu districts.

YSRCP didnot field candidates as it didnot have adequate strength. YSRCP is fighting a keen contest in SPS Nellore, Kurnool and Kadapa. In Nellore, sitting MLC Vakati Narayana Reddy of the TDP is facing Anam Vijay Kumar Reddy of YSRC.In Kurnool, TDP district president and incumbent MLC Silpa Chakrapani Reddy is fighting YSRC's Gouru Venkat Reddy.YSRC president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy's uncle and former MLC Y S Vivekananda Reddy is facing B Ravi of TDP in Kadapa.

Now TDP and YSRCP are busy protecting their votes so that none will drift to other side. Candidates from both sides are organising camps at various posh hotels in Bengaluru,Chennai and Hyderabad.
