Koothattukulam sources have reported that in a road mishap that happened at MC Road at Koothattukulam in Idukki district on Monday morning, jeep carrying school children, lost control and crashed into a compound wall killing the driver and 2 students.
Sources have stated that nearly 15 other students were injured in the accident and among them, 2 are said to be in a serious condition. The deceased children have been identified as Nayana Dilip and Ann Maria Shiji, studying in UKG.
Meanwhile the driver of the jeep Jose Jacob was killed on the
spot. The students belonged to Marygiri School and were travelling to the
school in the jeep. The injured have been rushed to the Kottayam and Ernakulam
hospitals.
It was stated that the jeep lost control when it tried to avoid a speeding bike coming in the opposite direction. The completely damaged jeep was broken open and the injured students pulled out of it. The police are making investigations about the incident that has happened.
