Offences Wing of the Delhi Police
on Tuesday arrested Kollywood industry's actor Power Star
Srinivasan on charges of duping a New Delhi based businessman of Rs 10
crore by promising to get him a Rs 1,000 crore loan. It was stated that the EOW
police have registered a cheating case against Srinivasan in 2010, based on the
complaint of Dileep Pathani, a resident of Delhi.
The Police have said Srinivasan had promised Pathani to get him loan of Rs 1,000 crore. He had collected Rs 10 crore as commission from the businessman. Previously the Delhi police arrested Srinivasan in 2013. He had been lodged in Tihar jail for about two months before he came out on bail after giving an undertaking to settle the pending dues within a stipulated time. However, he had failed to do so.
Currently a team from Delhi EOW, which was led by the
inspector Umesh, rushed to Chennai and nabbed Srinivasan from his house in Anna
Nagar on Tuesday morning. He was produced before the chief metropolitan
magistrate court in Egmore to obtain a transit warrant, to take him to Delhi.
Meanwhile Srinivasan is also wanted by the Bengaluru police as he has allegedly cheated businessman Masroor Alam and his brother Sajjad Wahab. The brothers gave Rs 90 lakh to Srinivasan in 2010 as commission after he promised to get them a loan of Rs 30 crore.
