Sources from Karnataka have stated that Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) campus is unlikely to be shifted to Ramanagara district soon. Though the university was all set to shift the campus and had even arranged for a public event on March 19, litigations and incomplete construction at the new campus are the reasons for the delay.

Meanwhile the Works Committee of the university has now decided not to shift until they get litigation-free land and construction is ready. The committee, headed by Vice-chancellor Dr K S Ravindranath, also included former MLC M C Nanaiah and retired IFS officer Chandrashekara Murthy. In the works committee meeting held on Tuesday, the members discussed the conditions at the new venue and decided to defer the shifting plan.

Nanaiah had said that "The Kandaya Bhavan at Ramanagara is an old one and needs structural alterations. Even the carpet area is too less to run a university. Shifting the campus to a temporary building will cause undue hardship to the students". He had suggested the university to shift only after getting a litigation-free land.

Meanwhile a senior RGUHS official had said that the other members supported Nanaiah and finally it was decided to bring it to the notice of the Syndicate. “The Syndicate meeting is scheduled to be held on Friday".
