Ahead of the counting in the largest state of Uttar Pradesh, BJP feared for Bihar repeat and its rivals Congress and SP prayed for Bihar miracle,where exit polls turned wrong. As expected all the exit polls turned wrong but this time much to the delight of BJP.
With in minutes of counting, Saffron tsunami started and BJP performed beyond expectations stunning its rivals. While many exit polls gave BJP something in the range of 170-230 with only India Today and Chanakya giving somewhere around 250, BJP scored a triple century leaving all shellshocked.
According to the latest BJP is leading in 309 seats while SP and Congress is confined to just 67. BSP got just 19 seats. Analysts are attributing it to Modi wave calling it as Modi Magic, Saffron Tsunami etc.
However opponents are not willing to accept the defeat and they blame BJP for polarising the voters to win the elections.
