BJP which created saffron tsunami in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand is not keen to rest on the laurels of PM Modi. They are keen to make him proud by wresting another state from the Congress kitty.

BJP tried wresting North East state of Manipur and stun all like it did in Assam. Though it put up a strong show and won 21 seats in the recently held assembly elections which itself is a remarkable achievement as it didnot win a single seat in 2012, Congress held its ground winning 28 and becoming the single largest party.

However no party got majority and while Congress requires just three more seats, BJP needs ten seats. However BJP national president Amit Shah is confident of forming government in Manipur.

He said “BJP would form government in four states i.e. Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Manipur and Goa”. It is known that BJP had alliance with LJP in Centre and is confident that NPF in Nagaland may join the alliance.

The Naga Peoples Front (NPF) and National Peoples Party (NPP) bagged four seats respectively, while Lokjanshakti Party of Ram Vilas Paswan and an Independent captured one seat each.
