Many are wondering whether India's next President finalised. Before the elections to the five state assemblies,many predicted that BJP will find it difficult to get its person elected as the next President of India. However equations changed drastically after the elections and BJP sweeping Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand and forming governments in Goa and Manipur.
Now it is coming out that PM Modi finalised senior leader of BJP,LK.Advani's name for the President of India. It is known that President Pranab Mukherjee's term will on July 25 and according to reports Modi himself promosed Advani's name during a party meeting in Somnath, Gujarat. The meeting was attended by Advani himself.
Modi is reported to have said that the President post would behis guru dakshina. Amit Shah and Keshubhai Patel were also present at the meeting.However Advani is one of the main accused in Babri Masjid demolition and he was the deputy PM in Vajpayee's regime.
Sometime back Modi and Advani said to be having lot of differences and talk of rift too reported in the media when Advani was dropped from the BJP parliamentary board and was ncluded in the Marg Darshak Mandal of the BJP along with Murli Manohar Joshi and Atal Bihari Vajpayee, after Modi came to power in 2014. Many in BJP circles are of the opinion that for long Advani has been sidelined and he should be honoured with the top post.
