1.  Engineering courses lose charm, 50% seats lie vacant in Telangana :  Engineering seems to be losing its sheen among students in Telangana with figures recently presented in the Rajya Sabha revealing that barely half of the number of approved seats was filled between 2014 and 2016.
2.  Message of Tolerance & inclusion resonated at this poetry slam :  Pleas for tolerance and inclusion expressed themselves in poetry in a poetry slam this Thursday. Commemorating World Poetry Day, the US Consulate Hyderabad organised the slam poetry event at a city cafe that was attended by around 90 city folks. 
3.  Hyderabad boys Revanth and Rohit return home as Indian Idol stars :  Chants of Rohit, Rohit...! Revanth, Revanth...! reverberated across the arrival lounge of Shamshabad airport as the status for the Mumbai-Hyderabad flight turned from 'Expected' to 'arrived' on Wednesday afternoon. 
4.  No land parcels in Old Hyderabad for GHMC's model markets :  The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation's (GHMC) south zone, which covers Old City and large parts of Rajendra Nagar, is finding it difficult to identify suitable land parcels to construct some of the sanctioned model markets.
5.  Govt may draft only 300 PG students for rural service :  The Telangana government is mulling cutting down appointment of senior resident doctors from 1,200 to 300 for compulsory rural service.
6.  Vedic chant can help improve test score :  Chanting of Vedic mantras will help students beat the academic stressand pass examinations with flying colours. It will also lead to psychological and physiological well-being of students and improve their power of concentration.
7.  Now, Haj to become costlier: Airfare likely to soar by 20% :   The airfare for the annual pilgrimage of Haj is likely to increase with officials of the Haj Committee of India expecting a rise by around 20 per cent.
8.  Anywhere Registration’ yielding results: Minister :  Deputy Chief Minister and Revenue Minister Mohammad Mahmood Ali clarified that the facility for registration of land from anywhere in the State was not being misused by registering property without verification and said the concerned registrar was being informed in advance.
9.  Telangana IPS officers transferred :  Fifteen IPS officers were transferred, including those based on promotions, by the State Government on Thursday. J. Purnachandra Rao, who was chairman of the TSLPRB was transferred and posted as the Additional Director General of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), relieving Anurag Sharma, Director General of Police, from the additional charge he had of the department.
10.  TS, AP to file affidavits on water sharing :  The Brijesh Kumar Tribunal, Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal-II, on Thursday asked Telangana and Andhra Pradesh States to file their affidavits on the issue of water sharing during the lean water years by April 13.

1.  Blood donation on Bhagat Singh day :  More than 50 former students of the Gorantla residential school donated blood at the Kurnool General Hospital on the 86th death anniversary of Indian socialist revolutionary Bhagat Singh on Thursday.
2.  TTD to bear medical expenses of Padmanabham :  The TTD medical officers are constantly monitoring the health condition of the pilgrim, Padmanabham (56), who has been put on a life support system.
3.  Prathipati bought lands of AgriGold: Jagan :  The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly witnessed yet another episode of mutual recrimination between the treasury and Opposition benches on Thursday as YSR Congress president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy accused Agriculture Minister Prathipati Pulla Rao of buying land allegedly sold by one of the promoters of AgriGold Group of companies which committed a major fraud on the customers.
4.  YSRCP not to contest VMC by-election :  YSR Congress Party city president Velampalli Srinivas on Thursday said the party was not contesting the by-election for the 11th division in the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC). 
5.  No-trust move a waste of time: Naidu :  Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has said that a no-confidence motion against Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao will only be a waste of the Assembly’s time.
6.  Cong. satyagraha on ryots’ woes tomorrow :  Congress members will stage a satyagraha at Anantapur on March 25 to ‘expose the government’s apathy towards the distressed farmers in the Rayalaseema region’, former Speaker and APCC vice-president Nadendla Manohar said on Thursday.
7.  Opposition stalls proceedings on SCS :  The Special Category Status (SCS) issue rocked the Andhra Pradesh Assembly on Thursday with Opposition YSR Congress stalling proceedings demanding a discussion.
8.  YSRC gears up for padayatra on special status, rail zone :  President of ‘Praja Spandana’ C.S. Rao on Thursday evening flagged off a replica of a steam engine ahead of YSR Congress’ ‘March for Self-Respect’ demanding special category status for the State and railway zone with Visakhapatnam as its headquarters.
9.  Probe into ‘malpractices’ in NTR Vaidya Seva :  The Vigilance Department has launched a probe into the alleged malpractices by the government and private hospitals under the NTR Vaidya Seva scheme.
10.  CM invites business leaders to state :  Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday invited business leaders of the country to test the ‘ease of doing business’ in AP. Mr. Naidu was speaking at the India Business Leaders Awards-2017 of a news channel in New Delhi. He also received the State of the Year Award.
