Even as people are getting enlightened and taking on the high handedness of the politicians who misuse their power, it seems they are not keen to learn the lessons and behave properly. As nation is taking Shiv Sena MP Gaekwad to task for assaulting an Air India official couple of days back, T-Congress former MP,V.Hanumantha Rao crossed all limits by hurling caste abuses at a police officer.
Hanumantha Rao was seen warning the police officer after he stopped him from entering the media point. Inspector Sudhakar who was on bandobast duty told Hanumanth Rao that only MLAs and MLCs are allowed to speak to the media at the designated area.Hanumanth Rao turned furious and warned him saying “You people have made Dharna Chowk out of bounds for protesters and now I am being banned entry into the Media Point.Are we living in a democracy or dictatorship? Who are you to stop me? I am secretary of All India Congress Committee and I will definitely address reporters,“
Police Officer shared his plight on Facebook and said he offered to quit to protest the humiliation, a criminal case was lodged against the politician. He was booked for assault and use of criminal force to deter a public servant from discharging duty , intentional insult to breach peace and uttering obscene language.
Hanumanth Rao said CM KCR too earlier used Dharna Chowk for protests and added “Now, protests are not allowed. Tomorrow the Gun Park will also be out of bounds,“ He warned police of stern action when Congress comes to power.
Hanumanth Rao said “I have right to address media at the designated place. When he objected, I asked him to show orders. In the Assembly, only Speaker can give orders and Marshals can act on Speaker's direction and police have no rights.“
