Eversince Modi stormed to power on Modi wave, BJP high command under the leadership of Amit Shah has been trying to make the party a formidable force in two Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Though it couldn't make any impression on its own,with the alliance with Chandra Babu Naidu's TDP and tacit support of Power Star Pawan Kalyan's Jana Sena,it is now enjoying power in Andhra Pradesh.
In Telangana it is trying to bring in KCR's TRS into its fold and KCR too is showing interest to join the NDA government. BJP is keen to show its power in the 2019 elections and is considering various options in the two states.
Now many are wondering who will help the Lotus bloom in AP and TS.In Andhra Pradesh, Chandra Babu Naidu's ruling TDP is fighting anti incumbency and BJP too is facing criticism as it didnot accord special status to the state. Jagan is facing corruption charges and Pawan Kalyan is a novice. BJP is considering the pros and cons of allying with them and also going all alone in the state.
In Telangana, KCR's ruling TRS is having no opposition and its high handedness may act against it in the 2019 elections. BJP is keen to have alliance with it, but KCR is out to clip BJP's wings before having any alliance. BJP which knows that alliance with any of these party will erode its support base is treading carefully.
