CBI yesterday filed for the cancellation of bail application to leader of the opposition in AP assembly, Jagan Mohan Reddy of YSRCP. CBI submitted in the court that Jagan can influence the witnesses and tamper with the evidence in the disproportionate assets cases investigation.
Many felt that this will delight AP CM Chandra babu Naidu as CBI moves will land Jagan in trouble. However much to the shock of everyone, it is coming out that Chandra Babu is unhappy with the CBI.
Chandra Babu is angry with the slow progress of CBI in the assets case and failure to file the charge sheet in Jagan's disproportionate assets case. Somireddy Chandra Mohan Reddy, TDP leader questioned “We strongly believe that someone is behind this; otherwise, how is it possible that the trial is yet to be completed and Jagan still unpunished, five years after the case started?”
TDP suspects someone in the Union Government secretly helping Jagan. He says “The Supreme Court direction came in 2013; CBI filed cases against Jagan in 2011. But stil, nothing is moving in the trial courts except adjournments. We believe that the investigating agencies are not seriously following up the matter in the courts,”
He questioned “How can such things happen in such a high profile case, especially when there is a direction from the apex court,”
