Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan, Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya and others conveyed their greetings to people on Tuesday on the eve of Ugadi, the Telugu new year day.Ugadi celebrations were organized at Raj Bhavan to mark the occasion in a grandeur way. The Governor with his family received the guests who included the Chief Ministers of the two Telugu-speaking States, several Ministers of the Telangana Cabinet, retired and serving bureaucrats along with leaders of political parties. Former Governors K. Rosaiah and P.S. Ramamohan Rao marked their attendance in  the event.The event included many cultural programs. The leader of the Opposition in AP Assembly Y.S.Jaganmohan Reddy also participated.

The Governor extended his greetings to people of two Telugu speaking States as also to the Telugu people all over the world describing Ugadi as a festival of joy and hope and it would bring with it new joy and expectation for a bright future for the people in both states. He expressed confidence that 'Sri Hevalambi Nama Samvatsaram' would usher in peace, prosperity, harmony and happiness to all people and sections of society for a peaceful new year.The Telangana Chief Minister KCR too conveyed his wishes that the new year would bring happiness and prosperity to all sections of people.He also mentioned various steps taken for the development and welfare schemes launched by the Government.

Wishing people on the occasion of Hevalambi Ugadi, Mr. Naidu conveyed his hope that this new year would strengthen the development of the new State as well as its people. Telugu Desam Party general secretary Nara Lokesh, party’s Andhra Pradesh and Telangana presidents K. Kala Venkata Rao and L. Ramana and other senior leaders conveyed their greetings to people of the two Telugu States.The Chief Ministers of the two Telugu speaking States lauded the Governor for his efforts to maintain cordial relations between the two States and assured for their cooperation.
