2.  Wakf Board's prime mall set for auction :  Garden View Mall, a prime Waqf institution, opposite Public Garden is likely to be auctioned for lease. This could be true as the Telangana State Waqf Board has included the issue in its agenda for the next meeting.

5.  Poaching: Cops asked to swiftly finish probe :  Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao expressed 'strong displeasure' over the initial lackadaisical investigation by the police and forest departments into the March 19 Spotted Deer poaching case in Bhupalpally district that allowed the disappearance of Akbar Khan, a local TRS strongman and a prime accused in the case.
6.  GHMC mops up Rs 1,200 crore revenue from property tax :  On the last day of property tax collection, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) netted a record Rs1,200 crore and it expects to earn an additional Rs10 crore by midnight, officials said.
7.  Telugu icons' statues to get facelift by April :  After years of neglect, 10 iconic statues of Telugu poets and leaders, who played key roles in social reforms, will finally be restored by April this year.
8.  It's already 40.8° C, will only get worse :  The city sizzled at 40.8 degree Celsius on Friday, the highest in March with many people choosing to stay indoors to beat the heat.

Andhra Pradesh
1.  Andhra Pradesh govt hikes power tariff by 3-6 per cent :  The AP Electricity Regulatory Commission (APERC) on Friday approved an overall 3-6 per cent hike in power tariffthe 2017-18 fiscal. The hike will come into effect from Saturday.
2.  CM moots ‘red line’ for suspension of legislators :  Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who took strong exception to the YSR Congress legislators climbing on to the Speaker’s podium to register their protest, recommended that the system of automatic suspension of MLAs who cross the ‘Red Line’ be implemented from the next Assembly session.
3.  TDP organisational polls from April 15 :  Elections for the Telugu Desam Party’s mandal, town and city committees and affiliated bodies will be held from April 15 to 30 on the directions of party president N. Chandrababu Naidu, district TDP general secretary Y. Nageswara Rao Yadav said on Friday.
4.  Venkaiah sees ‘hunger for development’ among people :  Seeking broad-based people’s support, Union Minister for Urban Development M. Venkaiah Naidu on Friday asserted that a new “hunger for development” had set in among all sections of society under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
5.  Naidu seeks Norway’s support in sea, ocean-based activities :  Nils Ragnar Kamsvåg, Ambassador of Norway to India, called on Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in his chambers at the Assembly building at Velagapudi on Friday.
6.  Women achievers to be feted today :  Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs of India (AP Chapter) will be felicitating women achievers in Wo’Mentor 2017 at P.B. Siddhartha Arts and Science College auditorium here on April 1 from 9. 30 a.m., according to release.
7.  Swachh’ efforts give VPT facilities a makeover :  The Visakhapatnam Port Trust (VPT) is not only spending Rs. 6.15 crore on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan but also has set a record of sorts by earning Rs. 33 lakh by auctioning scrap and unused stuff under ‘Operation Cleanup.’
8.  Station blast a tactical counter campaign by the Maoists? :  After the wiping out of almost the entire Malkangiri-Koraput-Vizag-Border (MKVB) division of the CPI (Maoist) by the elite anti-naxal force of Andhra Pradesh, the Greyhounds, in Ramgarh or Ramaguda village in the cut-off area in Andhra Odisha Border (AOB) on October 24 last year, Maoists have been desperate to strike back to show their strength and reclaim lost ground.
9.  Water bowl distribution on Sunday :  As part of its initiative ‘CARE’, an endeavour to save birds from the scorching heat, JCI Vizag will be distributing clay water bowls to the public on April 2 between 7 a.m. and 8.30 a.m. 
10.  Dinesh Kumar is new Cheif Secretary :  Dinesh Kumar assumed charge as Chief Secretary at the Secretariat near here on Friday. He took charge from Ajeya Kallam, who retired from service on attaining superannuation. Later, he met Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. Mr. Dinesh Kumar, a 1983 batch IAS officer, worked in the combined A.P. State Services and held key positions.
