The tragic and sudden demise of former Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa left huge vacuum in the politics. The all powerful AIADMK became invincible following her death with various factions trying to fight for Amma's legacy.
Jayalalithaa's close aide Sasikala and her trusted lieutenant Pannerselvam,split AIADMK and are contesting in the RK.Nagar by elections. Both factions are fighting for supremacy and own Amma legacy and with Election Commission banning the popular two leaves symbol, are not leaving any stone unturned to attract voters.
They are tampering their symbols to resemble two leaves much to the shock of Amma supporters. Pannerselvam camp which is desperate to win the elections and show their dominance against all powerful Sasikala faction which is ruling the state, now shocked all with coffin politics.
It is known that Senior AIADMK leader E Madhusudhanan of the OPS faction is contesting against Sasikala-led AIADMK Amma candidate TTV Dhinakaran for the April 12 bypoll. Pannerselvam camp created a replica of Amma's coffin and started using in their election campain shocking all how low politicians stoop to get votes.
The coffin was draped with national flag and analysts say this is for the first time even national flag is used to garner votes. It has to be seen what action Election Commission will take as Panneerselvam camp is violating all election norms.
