1.  More rain on the cards for Hyderabad, but respite temporary :  Residents can expect some respite from the dry and hot weather as the local met office has predicted showers across the city over the next two days. 
2.  Choreographer held for rape of student :  A choreographer was arrested by Marredpally police on Saturday for allegedly raping a 19-year-old B Com student from Kolkata. She said the assault took place when she visited the city in February.
3. In Secunderabad, ‘red’ alert sounded for commercial properties :  Commercial properties in Secunderabad Cantonment will sport new door number plates. For the first time, Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) is following a unique method in fixing door numbers with red colour as background.
4.  Pharma pollution fuels resistance to antibiotics, bacteria turns super bug :  Blighted by a high level of pharmaceutical pollution, Hyderabad has emerged as a virtual factory churning out bacteria that have developed resistance to over 90% of known antibiotics.
5.  For nine months, Quli Qutb Shah stadium to be off limits :  The Quli Qutb ShahStadium, the only sports arena of its kind in Old City, will be out of bounds for sports enthusiasts and youngsters for the next nine months.
6.   Waste from animal slaughter sullies Musi lake, locals voice concerns :  After the slaughterhousein Ziaguda, Puranapul, was closed a decade ago, vendors are slaughtering animals at a nearby tin shed and are throwing the waste into Musi lake.
7.  Legal tangles hold up many lands in Bandlaguda mandal :  Several land parcels, allotted to other government departments by revenue authorities in the Bandlaguda mandal, are stuck in legal tangles.
8.  Lives trip on live wire, 241 die in 1 year in Telangana :  Electrical accidentshave drastically shot up over last three years in Telangana. Official data reveals a staggering 785 electrical accidents in the state in this period, which claimed 382 lives. At least 355 animals also died after accidentally touching live wires.
9.  Network operator to pay Rs 10,000 for wrong tariff plan :   A district consumer forum has directed a mobile network operator to pay a sum of Rs 10,000 as compensation to a customer for activating 'wrong' tariff and failing to address the issue even after several complaints. 
10.  Ground Realty: Hyderabad’s heart remains corporate magnet :   While the focal point of Hyderabad's real estate market has moved west towards upscale IT corridor, the city core — spread across Banjara HillsPunjagutta-SomajigudaAmeerpet — hasn't quite lost its charm. 


Andhra Pradesh
1.  DGP: Maoist attacks cannot be ruled out :     In the wake of the Maoist attack on the CRPF personnel at Sukma in Chhattisgarh, the Andhra Pradesh police are expecting attacks in the State. The police see the danger of an attack lurking even six months after the Andhra- Odisha border encounter wherein 24 Maoists were killed by them .
2.  CM keen on hosting National Games: Minister :  Minister for Sports Kollu Ravindra on Saturday exhorted the baseball officials to strive to popularise the game in Andhra Pradesh as it figures in the 2020 Olympics.
3.  Ayesha Meera: Police ready to hand over the case to CBI :  The decade-old Ayesha Meera murder case is likely to be handed over to the CBI for “re-investigation”. The State police took this decision in the wake of the High Court order discharging the accused and Ayesha Meera’s mother Samshad Begum’s demand for re-investigation.
4.  Backward communities should wage united struggle: CPI(M) :  CPI(M) Central Secretariat member V. Srinivasa Rao on Saturday hailed Dr. B.R. Ambedkar as a true leader, who not only fought for the rights of Dalits but also for women, minorities and other oppressed sections of society.
5.  G.O. on compensation to AgriGold victims soon’ :  AgriGold Customers and Agents’ Welfare Association president Muppalla Nageswara Rao on Saturday said a Government Order (GO) sanctioning a compensation of Rs. 5 lakh to the kin of suicide victims would be released in a couple of days.
6.  Miraculous escape for bus passengers :  All the occupants of a hi-tech bus belonging to Kavery Travels, said to be equipped with sensors, had a miraculous escape after the bus caught fire and was almost reduced to ashes on the National Highway (NH-16) at Parawada Palem near Kasimkota in the district on Saturday morning.
7.  Congress workers stage sit-in at Telangana police station :  Tension prevailed at Mudigonda police station in Khammam division on Saturday when Congress cadres led by the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka staged a sit-in protest at the police station against the alleged detention of three farmers in the wake of the violent protests by chilli growers at agriculture market yard in Khammam on Friday.
8.   Working towards eradicating rural poverty, says Naidu :  As part of fulfilling the TDP’s election-eve promise, the State government will disburse monetary assistance to the unemployed youth, and the modalities will be finalised soon, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has said.
9.  TCS signs MoU with GITAM :  GITAM University and TCS signed MoU on Saturday to bridge the gap between campus and corporate and enhance the employability of the students.
10.  Vivekananda Reddy appointed Kadapa coordinator :  YSR Congress president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy appointed his uncle and former Minister Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy as coordinator and person in-charge of Kadapa district on Saturday. Mr. Vivekananda Reddy is the younger brother of the former Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy.
