Telangana
1.  Vizag port is second cleanest in India :  After Vizag bagged the third spot in cleanliness survey and the city railway station bagged the top spot for sanitation, it is the turn for the Visakhapatnam Port Trust (VPT) to garner the clean tag in Swachh Bharat Abhyan.
2.  Mechanical engineering, computer science top career choices. :  Computer science, electronics and communication, and mechanical engineering stand out as the most preferred career choices with nearly 37 per cent of all seats in colleges available in these courses.
3.  JNTU-H sends report to colleges lacking facilities :   Students will now have to wait for at least 10 more days to find out which colleges have made the cut and managed to secure an affiliation. This as theJawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU-H) has now issued a deficiency report to all technical colleges and asked them to upload their compliance report by May 29.
4.  Too many in race for a few engineering courses :   With limited seats available in Telangana, candidates seeking admission to courses such as agricultural engineering, food science, metallurgical engineering and automobile engineering among others, are sure to face a tough competition
5.  Severe heatwave alert in coastal Andhra Pradesh for 48 hours :  Guntur district continued to be in the grip of severe heatwave even as Krishna, Prakasam and Nellore districts saw a slight fall in mercury levels on Saturday, according to India Meteorological Department. 
6.  IT corridor to Old City, water crisis haunts most localities :  Water crisis continues to haunt residents living in various parts of the city. Right from the gated communities dotting Hyderabad's IT corridor to the homes in the Old City, people rue how they have been forced to either make do with limited supplies or shell out thousands of rupees to buy water from tankers.
7.  NRI couples must abide by Indian laws in case of marital dispute: Women's panel :  The Telangana State Women's Commission has sought a pre-nuptial agreement in the case of NRImarriages. 
8.  R&B minister holds meet on monsoon plan, asks officials to be ready for emergencies :  After a directive from chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to make state roads free from potholes by the end of this month, Roads and Buildings (R&B) department minister Tummala Nageshwara Raohas instructed his officials to complete road repair works immediately and also be ready to tackle emergency works during the monsoon season.
9.  GHMC to complete road repair soon :  The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is planning to take up the road restoration work on priority basis and is expected to complete the work by end of this month. 
10.  TS-ECET results out, 91.79% qualify :  As many as 22,450 candidates qualifiedout of the 24,458 candidates who appeared for the Telangana state engineering common entrance test(TS-ECET). The results were declared by the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University on Saturday.


Andhra Pradesh
1.  Jagan manipulating SCS to save himself from cases: Naidu :  Telugu Desam Party supremo and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday said YSRC chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was manipulating the special status category issue to save himself from the criminal cases against him.
2.  E. Godavari likely to record highest temperature in State :  East Godavari district is likely to record highest day temperatures in the State for the next seven days and people have been advised not to come out between 12 noon and 3.30 p.m. till temperature becomes normal, according to District Collector Kartikeya Misra.
3.  Kurnool TDP body by Mahanadu, says KEK :  Telugu Desam Party national president N. Chandrababu Naidu will announce a new president and general secretary for the party’s Kurnool district unit and its frontal organisations before the ensuing Mahanadu, said Deputy Chief Minister K.E. Krishnamurthy on Saturday.
4.  Unfair to target Jagan for meeting Modi :  Former MP Vundavalli Arun Kumar on Saturday observed that YSR Congress president and Leader of the Opposition Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy might have met Prime Minister Narendra Modi as part of the coalition politics. He said the reaction of the TDP leaders, including that of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, was ridiculous. 
5.  Jagan seeks ICMR, AIIMS centres in Uddhanam :  YSR Congress Party President and Opposition leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Saturday alleged that the State government had failed to convince the Union government in establishing research centres of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) for identifying the exact reasons for the spread of kidney diseases in the Uddhanam region of Srikakulam district.
6.  Naidu, family reach Tirumala :  Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who is on a three-day visit to the district, on Saturday reached Tirumala. He was accompanied by his son and IT and Panchayat Raj Minister N. Lokesh. The Chief Minister’s wife Bhuvaneswarai and other family members arrived ahead of Mr. Naidu.
7.  Too early to talk about BJP-TDP alliance: Venkaiah :  Union Minister for Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation M. Venkaiah Naidu said here on Saturday it was too early to talk about the BJP-TDP alliance in the 2019 elections.
8.  States should give funds, powers to local bodies: Venkaiah Naidu :  Partly blaming the lack of proper development of urban areas on the inadequacies in the implementation of the 73rd and 74th Constitutional amendments, Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting and Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation M. Venkaiah Naidu said it was time the States had fulfilled that mandate to make their cities and towns liveable.
9.  Another feather in Vizag’s cap :  After bagging the third cleanest city and the cleanest railway station awards, the Visakhapatnam port has been adjudged the second cleanest among 12 major ports in India.
10.  Training programme for R&B engineers :  A one-day orientation programme on new engineering methods will be conducted for R&B engineers of North Coastal and East Godavari districts by National Academy of Construction on May 23.
