AP sources have made a statement that for this summer Andhra Pradesh IT and Rural Development minister N Lokesh introduced "Jalavani" scheme under which drinking water will be supplied to the needy people in the drought hit villages in the state.
What people has to do is to make a phone call to the call centre established in state capital Amaravati and give the detailed requirement of water in the specified area.
Sources have added that the new scheme has been launched by AP Chief
Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and requested people to utilize the scheme
prepared by his son Lokesh to address drinking water problem instantly. The
phone cal will be recorded in Real Time Alert Management System (RTMS) forward
the same to Lokesh mobile.
The minister immediately alerts the authorities who will make arrangement for the supply of water regularly in the villages. The minister already received 3000 calls and addressed 30% of them immediately. Officials said the new scheme is receiving overwhelming response from people.
