Even as BJP is trying its best to expand its base down south and strengthen the party before the 2019 elections, the actions of its leaders are giving huge shock to PM Modi. According to the latest former CM landed in idli controversy.
It is known that BJP is concentrating on Karnataka as it once ruled the state and it feels that it got the best chance to win the elections due to the misrule of the Congress party headed by CM Siddahramaiah.
BJP is organising various meetings with people of different castes and endear itself to all. However much to the shock of all former CM,BJP leader Yeddyurappa who went to the house of a dalit as a part of the program, shocked all by eating idlis and vadas prepared not in the dalit's home but ordered from a hotel.
D.Venkatesh of Mandya already filed a complaint against the leaders accusing them of practising untouchability. The incident happened when Yeddyurappa along with senior leaders KS Eswarappa, Ananth Kumar and others, had visited a house of a Dalit in Tumkuru to have breakfast.
However state media in-charge Dagge Shivaprakash rubbished criticism saying "As Yeddyurappa liked idli and vada, it was brought from a hotel. He also ate pulav that was prepared at the Dalit’s home,” Party leader Halanuru Lepkash revealed “They ate what was prepared by the Dalits,”
Party spokesperson said "The complaint is politically motivated and lodged by those who have been shaken by the Dalit outreach programme. Their frustration is palpable," However video exposed these leaders as host Hanumanthaiah is seen claiming that idlis had to be brought from a hotel as there were more people.
