Athawale said, "There is no law, including gorocities, above the law.
Therefore, if anyone thinks that illegal work is being done then instead of taking the law into its own hands, the police should give the information to the police. In response to another question, Athawale said that the Center and Maharashtra government are committed to the welfare of the farmers.

Athawale said, "BJP is 14-15 seats away from the majority (in the Assembly) and if the coalition partner withdraws support from the Shiv Sena, then I will meet the Chief Minister and tell them that they will not go for the mid-term elections."
