Andhra Pradesh sources have stated that the Kurnool district police have solved the murder mystery of YSR Congress party leader and Pattikonda constituency in charge Cherukulapadu Narayana Reddy that has shrouded for the past few days. Narayana Reddy and his associate Boya Sambasivudu were brutally killed on Sunday (May 21) after returning from a marriage. Rivals had attacked the duo and chased them and killed those using sickles.
It was stated that the 12 accused in the case were arrested on Wednesday by a special police team constituted under Done zonal DSP. The accused were presented before DIG Ramana Kumar and SP Aake Ravi Krishna on the same day. The accused were also presented before media. It's said that the accused had killed Narayana Reddy and Boya Sambasivudu fearing that they would kill them.
Meanwhile the accused claimed that Narayana Reddy and Sambasivudu had
threatened to kill them and hence they swung into action to kill them. Police
said 5 more names that are not mentioned in the FIR, linked to the murder have
come out and probing the matter.
Narayana Reddy contested from Congress party in 2014 polls in Pattikonda constituency against Deputy Chief Minister KE Krishna Murthy. After losing to latter, Reddy joined YSRCP and appointed as the constituencies in charge. And it gained significance. YSRCP MLA Roja had alleged that TDP was "behind" the murder and currently that it is proved that the murder is not "political" but a faction rivalry, it needs to be seen what Roja and YSRCP leaders say.
