1.  Hyderabad lake goes Bengaluru way, spills toxic foam :  After Bengaluru's Bellandur and Varthur lakes gained notoriety for spewing toxic foam, Hyderabad's Ramakrishnapuram Lake (RK Puram lake) near Neredmet too seems to be choking with pollution.
2.  Radio frequency metres to be installed to track water usage :  To measure accurate quantity of water supply, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply said it will installRadio Frequency water meters.
3.  GHMC crack monsoon team totters, residents clear water :  Despite the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) drawing up a an action plan for monsoon, the condition of residents living in low lying areas of the city hasn't changed too much.
4.  For the first time in 5 years, Telangana lifeline gets water in June :  In what is portending to be a good monsoon year for Telangana, the Sriram Sagar reservoir on Monday started receiving fresh inflows, a development that has not been seen in the last five years. 
5.  Black badge protest marks Eid day :  Law enforcing agencies on Monday went into a tizzy after a large gathering at Saidabad Eidgah Ujale-Shah wore black badges against alleged lynching of Muslims by cow vigilantes across the country.
6.  Tech-savvy Hyderabad houses most child workers :  As hi-tech Hyderabadpreens itself on emerging as a global IT hotspot, its swanky and glitzy exteriors hide an ugly underbelly - the city that houses the facilities of global IT giants is also home to the highest number of child workers anywhere in urban India.
7.  Tyrant blotted out, martyr gets honour on Cantonment road :   Suddenly waking up to the fact that Nicholson Road in the Cantonment area has been named after an Irish brigadier general of East India Company who brutally suppressed the Mutiny of 1857, the defence ministry in Delhi decided to rechristen it as Khetarpal Road. Arun Khetarpal was a 2nd lieutenant in the Indian Army who was martyred in the 1971 IndoPak war.
8.  Tree guards getting stolen to make pens for chicken, goats :  The stealing of tree guards over the last two years is reported to have been prevalent in nearly all the districts. Officials surveying the Haritha Haram plantations over the past two years have discovered that in many villages people just walked across to the saplings, pulled out the tree guards and used the wire or plastic reinforced mesh to build pens for chickens or other small animals like goats.
9.  Renew grass roots leadership: Naidu :  Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu advised his party’s Telangana leaders to ensure effective coordination among themselves in highlighting the problems of people and exposing the failures of the TRS government.
10.  UoH revokes admissions into three programmes :  The University of Hyderabad (UoH), one among the prestigious central universities of the country, had to cancel at least three programmes it had announced admissions into for the year 2017-18, due to lack of qualified faculty.


Andhra Pradesh
1.  Social boycott: SC panel member calls for action :  Member of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes K. Ramulu on Tuesday confirmed that the Dalits of Christianpeta in Garagaparru village of Palakoderu mandal were subjected to social boycott by the upper castes and directed the West Godavari district administration to initiate action against the accused besides taking steps to ensure the prevalence of normalcy in the village and the victims get back their agriculture works.
2.  Displaced Dalits plead for justice :  Twenty Dalit families of Yenikapadu, a remote village near S.N. Padu in Prakasam district, had toiled for two decades to develop 20 acres of land for which provisional land assignment had been made by the then government.
3.  Id-ul-Fitr celebrated with fervour in Prakasam district :  Id-ul-Fitr was celebrated with religious fervour and traditional enthusiasm in Prakasam district on Monday.
4.  TTD to pay compensation as ‘assaulted’ pilgrim dies :  The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is expected to pay ex gratia to the kin of Kota Padmanabham, who died at the TTD’s Svims super specialty hospital on Sunday evening.
5.  Former MLA traced near Tirupati :  Former MLA Kunja Biksham, who went missing after coming out of the temple along with his family members on Saturday, was on Monday traced at Karakkambadi village near Tirupati.
6.  Naidu releases Godavari water to Krishna delta :  After releasing Godavari water pumped by the PLIP to the Krishna Eastern Delta from the Prakasam Barrage here, Mr. Naidu recalled how several political leaders had challenged him when he proposed the construction of the PLIP to provide timely water to 13 lakh acres spanning across four coastal districts.
7.  ‘112 died after AgriGold scam broke out’ :  AgriGold Customers and Agents Welfare Association president M. Nageswara Rao on Monday said 112 deaths were registered as suicides, heart attacks and owing to depression in the multi-crore scam in the State. 
8.  Anand Surya slams YSR Congress MLA Kona :  Andhra Pradesh Brahmin Welfare Corporation (APBWC) Chairman Vemuri Anand Surya on Monday took objection to Brahmana Atma Gaurava Sabha organised by YSR Congress MLA (Bapatla) Kona Raghupati in protest against the sacking of his predecessor IYR Krishna Rao. 
9.  BJP leaders recall dark days of Emergency :  BJP State president and MP K. Haribabu on Monday recalled experiences during the Emergency (1975-77) and narrated how democracy was murdered by then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi following an adverse judgment by the Allahabad High Court.
10.  US Hindi foundation invites YLP :  Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad, former Member of Parliament and member of the Central Hindi Consultative Committee, has been invited as chief guest by the US Hindi Sangam Foundation for a programme to be organised in New Jersey on July 8.
