8.  UP cop who stood up to BJP workers transferred, calls it 'a reward for good work' :  Circle Officer Shreshtha Thakur, who took to task a group of unruly BJP workers and sent five of them to jail in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr last week, has been transferred. Thakur wrote in a Facebook post, "Got transfer to Bahraich, it's Nepal border. Don't worry my friends, I'm happy. I accept it as a reward for my good work."

2.  China-US ties affected by some negative factors: Xi to Trump :  Chinese President Xi Jinping told his American counterpart Donald Trump today that bilateral relations were "affected by some negative factors," as the two leaders spoke over phone amid unease in ties following a series of US actions that angered Beijing.
