India tops as one of the most populous countries over the next decade, will also be the world’s largest milk producer by the year 2026 and will account for the biggest increase in wheat production globally, according to a report generated by the UN and OECD.
The high increase in wheat production is expected to occur through better farming which gives higher yields, most notably in Asia and Pacific, which will contribute for about 46 % of the additional production of wheat.
Rice production is averagely expected to grow by 66 Mt and will be achieved exclusively driven by yield growth, which accounts to 93 % or more of additional production. In a report which said that Over the course od a fixed time frame alone, milk production in India alone will grow 49 %; in 2026, India will top as the world’s largest milk producer, with an average output one-third above when compared to that of that of the second largest producer, the European Union,
