It was learnt that around 2000 village panchayats have elected their sarpanches unanimously, after the completion of last day of withdrawal of nominations. Elections are scheduled to be held in three phases for the remaining 20K odd panchayats on July 23rd,27th and 31st in the state.

In general, this is an indirect election without having any party symbols. Ruling party has always ahead over opposition in any indirect election for local bodies. In majority Political parties start claiming these unanimous elected candidates in their list. Since last two days all the three parties (Congress, TDP and YSRCP) starts this number game. TDP claims around 570 village panchayats to the party, Congress said that their party is in No.1 place and YSRCP leader Mysoora Reddy claims that around 600 gram panchayats. As per Eenadu and ABN Congress (700), TDP (500),YSRCP (400) and TRS (88) where as in Sakshi reports that YSRCP claims 855 more than the double it quoted in Eenadu followed by ruling Congress and TDP with third position. And Sakshi also highlighted that YSRCP performed well even though the TDP and Congress illicit alliance in many places in it’s banner page. And in Vaartha daily Congress get first place with 737 unanimous panchayats, Independents got second place with 638 panchanyats and TDP in third and YSRCP in 4th position. As per Vaartha that both YSRCP and TRS fails to impact in their strong districts.

It seems like competition of rank advertisements among corporate colleges and first week collections of mass Heros in Telugu. As per political analysts all these numbers haven’t their real strength. It all tries to boost up the confidence in their cadre. The real verdict comes out when people voted on ballot paper.
