Mumbai sources have stated that in a shocking incident, a former Doordarshan anchor and yoga teacher was crushed to death after a coconut tree got uprooted and fell on her head while she was on a morning walk in Mumbai’s Chembur locality.
Sources have stated that the 58 year old anchor Kanchan Rajatnath went for morning walk on Thursday. A coconut tree, close to her house suddenly got uprooted and fell on her. The anchor fell unconscious and was rushed to Sushrut Hospital where she breathed her last on Saturday morning.
Accordingly
the municipality refused permission to cut the tree, as they had found the tree
to be in good condition," the anchor's family members alleged. The family
earlier asked the authorities to cut the tree, where the whole incident was
captured by a CCTV camera installed at a nearby shop on the opposite side of
the road.
