Sources from Hyderabad have stated that 48-year-old man was arrested on Sunday for raping a mentally challenged teenage girl and impregnating her. Sources have stated that the police also arrested a woman Sunitha who connived in the crime. The girl used to work as a helper at the women's house at Trimulgherry who ran a cloth business, where the man Gautam Bhasker Rao worked as a tailor.
Meanwhile, the Police said that the accused raped the 15-year-old girl on multiple occasions over the past few months after offering her water laced with a sedative. According to sources, the incident came to light after the girl fell ill and her mother took her to doctor where it was revealed that the minor was pregnant.
Moreover, it was stated that a case under IPC section 376 (rape) and relevant provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has been booked against the accused. The woman, at whose house the survivor worked, was also arrested and booked under relevant sections of the Juvenile Justice Act for employing a minor.
