According to sources, the rally was scheduled to start from Wednesday. Meanwhile, when addressing the media here on Tuesday, the DGP said the department did not receive any request seeking permission for the rally. He also cautioned against anyone taking part in any rally in Venkatapalem and Mandadum villages as Section 30 and 144 were in force in these places.

He said while referring to instances of Kapu agitators indulging in arson during earlier protests that "The police would not hesitate to file cases against those indulging in damage of property". Meanwhile, security at the AP Secretariat was beefed up in view of the Kapu agitation.
