Sources from Hyderabad have made a statement that the Government Junior College for Girls in Old City instead of enrolling students is turning away them due to space constraint. The college situated at Maisaram near Chandrayangutta was started in 2008 and offers only Arts (CEC) stream. Incidentally, the college has been running within school premises.

The principal Sadiqa Begum said, "The classes are jam packed and she have asked those seeking admission to wait until alternative arrangements are made."

Further it was stated that the college was granted to start BiPC, MPC stream as well but till date the management couldn’t implement due to space constraint. Moreover girls coming from Shaheennagar, Bandlaguda, Ghousenagar, Errakunta, Pahadishareef, and Chandrayangutta approach the college every year to seek admissions.
