Vijayawada sources have stated that in a miraculous escape, a four year old boy survived after he slipped from the third floor of the school building, which was 50 foot above from the ground, on Tuesday. Sources have reported that the boy Nikhil Chand a nursery student of Sri Chaitanya school at Uppaluru Village in Kankipadu mandal.
The boy stood near the window, which did not have a proper protective mesh and accidentally fell off. However, the boy hung precariously holding a sunshade. He was seen by a woman from an apartment. Meanwhile the women tried to alert the school management, but to no avail. The staff rushed in only after hearing the sound of boy falling down. The neighbors from the apartment also rushed in to the school. Police who learnt about the incident, rushed to the school. The boy was admitted into the Pinnamaneni hospital and was later shifted to a hospital in Vijayawada for better treatment.
Further MEO BG Margaret, MPP Patra Kavita and SI Subrahmanyam arrived at the hospital and ordered an inquiry. The school management was blamed for the freak mishap. The DEO has ordered the suspension of the school principal and the concerned teacher.
