Hyderabad sources have stated that a class 10 tribal student from Telangana scaled the highest peak Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa on Monday. Mallesh Naini along with a team of 13 members from India after scaling the peak unfurled a 100 feet tricolor midnight on Independence Day. They sang the national anthem at top of the peak which is 19,341 feet above sea level.


According to sources, Mallesh, as a mark of respect to the government displayed Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao's picture along with the photograph of tribal hero Komaram Bheemu.

Sources have reported that Mallesh studies in Telangana Tribal Welfare Residential School (TSWREI) in Asifabad. The students scaled the peak under the mentorship of mountaineer Sekhar Babu. Recounting his expedition, Mallesh says, "He never thought that he would make it here one day. He comes from a poor family and this kind of expedition helps boost self-confidence.”


Meanwhile, Dr. RS Praveen Kumar, TSWREI Secretary pointed out that the state government is providing lot of schemes for the marginalized students.
