Nandyal sources have made a statement that AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has no right to seek votes from the Dalit community as the TDP government has suppressed the community and denied it even the rights accorded by the Constitution. Meanwhile, when speaking to the media persons in Nandyal on Tuesday, YSR Congress Party SC cell President Meruga Nagarjuna has alleged that Chandrababu did not take any steps towards the eradication of untouchability.
Sources have stated that the CM has also failed in curbing attacks on Dalits in Andhra Pradesh in the recent times. It was stated that the recent incident of attack on Dalits in Garagaparru village and another in East Godavari have given a clear indication that the Dalits are not safe in the state. The YSR Congress leader questioned Chandrababu for maintaining silence on such incidents.
Moreover Government has also snatched away lands from Dalits in Devarapalli village in Prakasham district. He added that Chandrababu has also turned the SC Corporation defunct by not allocating funds to it. During the time of Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy, the SC Corporation was strengthened by providing sufficient funds.
