Sources from Nandyal have stated that the actor cum politician Balakrishna's Nandyal campaign on Wednesday in favour of Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy in Nandyal by-poll was marred by an accident. Sources have stated that his convoy has hit a small boy, who has sustained minor injuries. He was immediately shifted to a hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile when speaking in the campaign, Balakrishna said that Bhuma's family has helped PV Narsimha Rao win the elections in Nandyal. He recalled that Rao had won the election from Nandyal constituency due to Bhuma family's backing. He said "Whenever he comes to Nandyal for film shooting, Bhuma's family had offered its hospitality".
Moreover according to sources he also said that he was happy as Bhuma's daughter Akhila Priya has become the Tourism Minister.
