New Delhi sources have stated that the Delhi High Court is on high alert after a bomb threat was received earlier this morning. The Police Control Room received a call at 10:54 am from north east Delhi saying there would be a blast at the High Court in an hour. The call has been declared a hoax.

Meanwhile the officials from the bomb squad and the fire department were rushed to the spot. A Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team has also been sent to the court premises in central Delhi's Sher Shah Road. Accordingly a search is underway in the court premises. While the call has been traced to a number in western Uttar Pradesh, police are trying to trace the person who called the PCR from north east Delhi's Bhajanpura.

Sources have stated that the phone has been switched off since the call was made. Previously in September 2011, a blast outside a gate of the Delhi High Court killed 11 people and injured over 80. Currently the security was heightened in the capital earlier this week ahead of Independence Day with nearly 70,000 police personnel on duty.
